SETTING THE STANDARD
With over a decade of experience, AirLink products have continually set the benchmark by which other mobile data solutions are judged. Now, the PinPoint Ethernet EDGE has raised the bar once again for speed, rugged reliability, and ease of use. Powered by the AirLink Embedded Operating System (ALEOS), the PinPoint-E EDGE is a powerful and diverse mobile communications platform. Now equipped with Ethernet, it can fully take advantage of the new higher data rates offered by EDGE technology, and it’s even easier to configure and install.
POWER AND PRODUCTIVITY
By blending an always-on wireless data connection with a high-precision integrated GPS receiver, the PinPoint provides scaleable mobile data solutions for the enterprise. As a standalone in-vehicle device, it enables AVL, fleet management and real-time dispatch applications. Its Ethernet, serial, and digital interfaces enable a host of applications to communicate over public EDGE networks with data speeds nearly three times faster than GPRS and typical dial-up connections. AirLink's EDGE products are interoperable with existing and broadly deployed GSM/GPRS networks and will automatically and seamlessly fall back to GPRS if EDGE is not available. Example market applications include public safety, AVL, fleet management, field force automation, and advanced telematics.
ALEOS TECHNOLOGY
As with all PinPoint Products, the PinPoint-E is powered by AirLink’s venerable ALEOS technology – the longstanding industry benchmark for reliable and feature-rich embedded intelligence. With extensive capabilities like remote monitoring and configuration, packet-level diagnostics and over the-air firmware updates, ALEOS simplifies installation, operation, and maintenance of any solution. ALEOS provides the “always-on” and “always-aware” connection management required for today’s mission-critical applications.
